Mosquito Spraying Isn't Working
Frequent insecticide application in Williamsburg County, South Carolina since midsummer have not prevented mosquitoes breeding in this water-filled ditch. On the afternoon of October 20, thousands of mosquitoes, a literal fog, was emerging from this ditch, and many were returning to lay eggs.
Why has Williamsburg County not discontinued spraying toxic chemicals that aren't working, in favor of safer and more effective larvicides to prevent the adults from developing in the first place? Here is a perfect place for the biological insecticide "Bt israelensis."
